2020 Reboot
Greetings and welcome to the 1st blog post on our new and improved web site. This post is going to cover a little bit of nostalgia, because it is relevant to who we are and what we are doing now.
We started building wooden exterior shutters 25 years ago in a 2 car garage, and now we are in a 30,000 square foot building. We have been on the internet so long that when we registered our domain name, we had to send a check in the mail because online payment did not even exist. From these beginnings, we are all now in the world of instant connectivity, push marketing and “smart” interactive searches. Through all of this, what we do has pretty much remained the same.
Over the years, we have done historic preservation work, have made every style of shutter imaginable out of every type of material available, have worked on giant commercial projects, famous restaurants, and everyday homes and businesses. Along the way we have worked for big builders and billionaires, and have been in all the big magazines and on TV.
Is spite of all of this, our primary customer base has always been the individual homeowner. When we 1st started out, when search engines were just getting started, we would get a call from someone in the process of having a home built, and the story was always the same. Their builder was trying to put cheap lumber yard shutters on their house, and was telling them that there wasn’t anything else available. These savvy home owners then jumped on the new-fangled internet, and lo and behold, there we were with just what they wanted.
So, while we love doing the super complex high profile jobs, we realize that our bread and butter will always be meeting the basic needs of homeowners efficiently and economically. We hope we can do that for you. Please read more of our posts for more info, or contact us with your questions. We are happy to help.
